1.3.1. Zero configurationΒΆ

The Virtual Accelerator can be started without any configuration. It is called the zero configuration mode. In this case, the fast path uses one physical core per socket, and takes all supported physical network ports. Virtual network ports should be created on demand before starting a VM (see the Hotplug a virtual port section).

This configuration is adapted to most use cases. It can be customized through the configuration wizard or manually by editing the fast path configuration file, as described in the next sections.

The fast path is the Virtual Accelerator component in charge of packet processing. More details were provided in Data Plane section.
