1. Overview

A VPN Concentrator is a component of a company’s network architecture, whose role is to offer on-demand VPN access to private resources (in LAN/WAN) intended for employees connecting from arbitrary access points over the Internet. In the IPsec terminology, the so connected employees are referred to as “road warriors”; this term will be used in the rest of this document to refer to clients connecting to the VPN Concentrator.
