xmsd log messages

xmsd can generate a large amount of log messages. Therefore, you can configure xmsd log messages very precisely.

Configuration overview

xmsd log messages can be filtered according to xmsd services or internal features, instead of their severity.

xmsd services or internal features that should report log messages are specified by the administrator. The administrator may then enable or disable logs and send them to one or more log sessions.

Activating xmsd logs

xmsd logs are globally activated from the log context.

router{conf:myconfig-log}log xmsd SESSION [SEVERITY]

Example

router{conf:myconfig-log}log xmsd session1 debug

xmsd services or internal features that should send logs

xmsd services or internal features that should send logs are configured using the log-option command.

In particular, to log XML XIPC messages sent to xmsd:

router{conf:myconfig-log}log-option xmsd xipc
