DNS clientΒΆ

Domain Name Service (DNS) provides name to IP address mapping.

Here is an example of DNS configuration to send DNS queries to the 192.168.0.254 server, and search for example.local domain.

vsr running config# / vrf main dns server 192.168.0.254
vsr running config# / vrf main dns search example.local

To display the DNS client state:

vsr> show state / vrf main dns
dns
    search example.local
    server 192.168.0.254
    proxy
        enabled false
        ..
    ..

The same configuration can be made using this NETCONF XML configuration:

vsr> show config xml absolute / vrf main dns
<config xmlns="urn:6wind:vrouter">
  <vrf>
    <name>main</name>
    <dns xmlns="urn:6wind:vrouter/dns">
      <search>example.local</search>
      <server>
        <address>192.168.0.254</address>
      </server>
    </dns>
  </vrf>
</config>
